With so much competition out there, business owners are doing whatever they can do gain a leg up.  Going green is a great way to attract more business and send a positive message to the community. 
Place a sign in the window of your small business, letting your customer know that you are trying to become more eco-friendly and that you welcome their advice.  Small steps can make a big difference.  Try using organic flour in your bakery or use ceramic mugs instead of paper cups in your coffee shop.
