Marketing a Book
Have you written a book? If so, creating the perfect marketing plan can mean the difference between selling thousands of copies or selling only a few. There are plenty of ways to market your book and all of them should be used. Exhaust all marketing efforts for a book because people do not just buy them at bookstores anymore. Books are purchased from online bookstores and sold secondhand on sites like EBay and Yahoo. Take advantage of all the marketing ideas available when it comes to marketing your book.
Your marketing plan for the book should be able to answer any if not all of the following questions:
- Who is the audience for the book?
- Why is it important that people read this book? Or, what makes my book different from others in its genre?
- What makes me qualified to write this book?
- How will I promote this book? (For example, will you send out review copies?)
- How much will I spend on marketing my book?
The marketing plan for a book should include ads in the newspaper, ads on radio, and ads on television. The book should be accompanied with a press release that is posted all over the Internet, including your own website, and on blogs that are run by people that also are interested in the idea of your book. Begin selling your book on your website and then move on from there. Marketing is the key to successfully selling a book whether online or in bookstores. Don’t skimp out on the marketing budget, it could lead to enormous benefits.
