How to Create Compelling Marketing Materials for a Pizza Shop

Magnets with your pizza shop’s contact information on them are great promotional keepsakes because your phone number is likely to be handy on fridges or filing cabinets. Plus, people tend to keep magnets for a reasonably long period of time, so once they order pizza from you, they’re likely to order from you again if they liked your pizza and service.

Another excellent promotional product for a pizza shop is a t-shirt with an attractive design because you can hang several of them in your front window along with a poster announcing a “Time limited offer- Buy y 2 large pizzas and get a free t-shirt”  to get attention from passers by. You could also use a sandwich board sign or place ads promoting the offer in the local newspaper.

Create attention when handing out your promotional keepsake items. Give out menus and coupons along with the cup holders with your pizza shop’s name and phone number on them. Remember to push the benefits of your products such as “With our pizza, you get quality ingredients like olive oil and real cheese.”  Know what your customer base wants and compel them to try your pizza.

Think Locally

Know your area and target customer. Make sure your marketing materials such as flyers and coupons reach these potential and current customers. Keep coming up with new ideas and specials to keep regulars coming back for your pizza, while also attracting new customers.

Whenever possible, get involved in community events such as donating part of your proceeds to a charity or sponsoring a sports team. Maybe you could sell pizza at the local music festival or sporting event. Be sure to hand out menus, coupons and flyers while you’re there. If a complimentary business such as a video store is located nearby, you may even be able to split marketing costs for flyers, coupons and newspaper ads by teaming up to create a “Movie and Pizza Night Special” promotion.

Think Creative Flyers

Try a colored flyer such as orange to get attention. You may even want to go for a triangular shape that looks like a slice of pizza. Bring in workers for lunch during the week with specials such as “Wedgie Wednesday Lunch Specials at Wally’s Pizza.”  Maybe you can leave a stack of flyers with office building receptionists to place in their lunch rooms.

Local laundromats are another great place to leave menus and flyers for your pizza shop. Include coupons with expiry dates as an incentive for customers to order from you now rather than storing away the menu for later. If your local newspaper contains weekly specials flyers from grocery stores and restaurants, get your own flyer inserted and be sure it stands out.
