Telemarketers

23 July 2009 285 views No Comment

Telemarketing is starting to become a thing of the past with the invention of email because companies can now send hundreds of emails to millions of people all in one shot, which sometimes is labeled as spam. Telemarketing used to take place over the telephone, and it still does, but it has become less of a problem for people across the country with the National do-not call list being put into place.

If a telemarketer calls your home you can tell them to put you on their do not call list and they are banned from ever calling you again. If they call you again you can report them to your local Better Business Bureau. One of the best ways to avoid telephone telemarketers you can purchase a caller ID system for your phone and not answer any phone call where you do not recognize the phone number listed.

Having the job of a telemarketer must be incredibly difficult because more often then not you get hung up on quite often. This is just as bad as being a door to door salesman back in the 1940s and 1950s. With new marketing techniques available such as email marketing, website marketing, television and radio marketing, telephone marketing is really starting to dwindle and become a thing of the past.

Sometimes a telephone marketing phone call can be helpful if it is about a new product that you have used in the past or information about a new business coming to your area. These phone calls might also be marketing calls for political figures prior to elections or for surveys being done over the phone.
